What science ideas did you learn?
This week in science class we learned more about how objects move. We also learned about Newton's first law: "An object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by another force." Then lastly we learned about Acceleration, motion, and force.
How did you learn these ideas?
Well, we learned Newton's first law by doing a packet. But we learned more about acceleration, motion , and force by going on a cart and moving on it. So, Kathy and Laura pulled Marc on the Cart. With the less force the acceleration was larger. But when we put John Robert and Aage on the cart, the force got larger but the acceleration was much less because the girls couldnt pull on three boys.
Why is it important to know this idea (What real world application is there)?
It is important to know these because if I was making a go cart and it needed to fit three people, I'd need to know how to distribute mass because if I did not the force woud be more, but the acceleration would be very little!
